Busoga Junior School
Busoga Jr. School – “A Future with Victory” is located outside the township of Kamuli in the village of Kiwungu. There are 200 students currently. The enrollment continues to increase as the local parents recognize the value of education and are motivated to bring their children to learn.
The village is approximately 3 miles in diameter, so children walk to and from school every day – some as far as 6 miles away daily. Younger children attend school until lunchtime, are fed lunch, then return home. The older ones stay all day and those that travel a greater distance stay in the dormitories for the week and return to their home on the weekend. The school serves children from nursery age [3] through 6th grade, which is considered primary. When they complete 6th grade, they go to a secondary school, which is at another location.
