Youth Involvement
The Nobel Committee is bringing 1200 youth to the Summit for a special program, and Anum Mulla, the Charter's Global Youth Strategist and César Salazar Zamora, one of our Board of Trustee members, will be helping out as facilitators at the event. We’re collaborating with Alamo College and the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, TX to bring even more youth delegations to the event along with several of the Charter for Compassion's universities in Mexico.
Road of Compassion and Peace
Exciting news! We’re working with Ann Helmke, one of our Board members, and a team from San Antonio, coordinated by Martha Ann Kirk, to establish a geographic Road of Compassion and Peace from San Antonio to Monterrey, Mexico. Our goal is to create up to 40 new compassionate communities in this area with support from partners Rotary International, Sister Cities, and David Gershon’s Peace on Earth. This is a long-term project that will be kicked off at the Summit.
Peace on Earth
Speaking of Peace on Earth, a new Peace Game program is starting on September 25. This is our third offering for 2024. We've had over 200 participants enrolled in the earlier two sessions and the result of this program is the impetus for our building the Road of Compassion and Peace from the U.S. to Monterrey. The Peace Game encourages 'triads' (groups of three people from the same area or with the same affinity) to join, so you are encouraged to invite your friends, coworkers, and family to join you and complete a triad. However, if you don't have a triad, during the Peace Game you can be grouped with other individuals from different parts of the world to work together. Artistic Bridges Project
Last week, we launched the Artistic Bridges Project, providing a platform for young artists to express their dreams through various art forms. A team of twelve volunteers is leading this global initiative, and we’re excited to share their contributions through a series of books. Click/Tap here to learn more about the project.
Ubuntu Project Update
